Destination Turkey

Over the past few years there has been a rise in the number of people taking their family holiday in Turkey. Past the initial flight cost, Turkey is a very affordable option and as it stays hotter for a little longer, it is a great place to visit after the summer holiday rush.

With loads of hotels offering everything from self-catering to all inclusive there is something for everyone. It offers loads in terms of culture and is very different to your traditional Mediterranean resorts.

The most popular resorts are Marmaris and Icmeler. Marmaris is a port town on the Mediterranean coast in the southwest Turkey. It retains its charm being placed next to the sea and between two sets of mountains. It is a popular late summer destination with its great weather and is a favourite with cruising boaters in these months that use the one of its several marinas.

The Green Nature resort and Spa has two outdoor swimming pools and a relaxing spa. Just three kilometres from Marmaris centre, set within a pine forest. The Green Nature resort and Spa offers an all-inclusive rate from just £25 per person per night and this an a la carte restaurant, a buffet restaurant and snack bar, which is fantastic value.

If all-inclusive isn’t your thing then why not try self-catering from just £2 per person, per night at the Ozlemturkey-ozlem-1-pool2 Apartments in Icmeler, which offers picturesque views of the Nimara island and the Aegean Sea. Made up of two blocks Ozlem 1 and Ozlem 2, they both boast their own swimming pools, bars and restaurants. Ozlem 1 is 150m from the centre of Icmeler and 500m from the beach and Ozlem 2 is a mere 200m from the beach. There is a bus and taxi service available just outside Ozlem 2 to take you into the centre of Icmeler or Marmaris.

Icmeler is just 8km away from Marmaris and is a popular holiday resort. In addition to the beautiful sandy beaches, Icmeler is surrounded by pine forests, and mountains which are perfect for hiking. If you do hike up the mountains you will get an amazing view of the region. In recent years there has been an increase in the amount of watersports available to holidaymakers, including scuba diving and water skiing.
