    Tourism Dirham in Dubai

Dubai has recently introduced the ‘Tourism Dirham’ which is a new, minimal charge that will be applied to hotel guests staying in any type of Dubai hotel establishment. This includes hotels, hotel apartments, guest houses and holiday homes. It takes effect from the 31st March 2014.

The fee will be charged per occupied bedroom per occupied night, so it won’t matter how many guests you have staying in a room/suite/villa… it’s all down to the number of bedrooms and the number of nights occupied. The Tourism Dirham fee will take effect from the 31st March 2014. Here are the fees as they apply to different hotel classifications:

    Hotel Establishment Classification

If you’re a little unsure of what defines a bedroom, it’s a hotel or hotel apartment room that includes 1 bed or more. Here are some examples of how the charge might apply to different accommodation:

.      A three bedroom hotel apartment is charged as three bedrooms

    –      A two bedroom hotel suite is charged as two bedrooms

    –      A junior suite with one bedroom and a living room is charged as one bedroom
