    Long haul winter getaways – Miami

    Seeking sunshine, culture and a little excitement this winter? Say hello to Miami, Florida!

    Miami’s peak season runs from October to January, so fleeing our gloomy winter and going long-haul to this warm and sunny destination makes perfect sense to us.

    Miami shoresDiverse and dynamic, Miami attracts sun-seekers and adventurers alike from all around the world. Miami is at the forefront of culture and the arts; the city is packed with a variety of creative types, from actors to musicians and from dancers to models. There are parks, museums, theatres, model agencies and performing arts centres aplenty, which add to the vibrant creative beat you can find at the heart of the city. The Art Basel Miami begins on the 5th December and is the largest art exhibition in the world, so if you head out for some winter-sun fun this December then you’ll no doubt find yourself immersed in the company of many colourful and interesting people.

    It’s also worth noting that Miami is a celebrity hotspot. Fancy rubbing shoulders with the stars? If your answer is YES! then this city is the winter-sun destination for you.

    Miami attracts sun-seekers galore and there are several very golden and beautiful reasons why – the beaches! South Beach is wide with sparkling soft sand and crystal calm waters. It’s a very trendy strip of beach lined with bars and restaurants and there is usually a flurry of people sunbathing, people-watching, playing volleyball and enjoying watersports.Crandon Park Beach

    If you prefer a more private and peaceful beach then visit the 85th Street Beach on Collins Avenue. It’s just as beautiful as other Miami beaches but with less hustle and bustle.

    The cuisine in Miami is heavily influenced by Caribbean and Latin American food,  so there are copious amounts of vibrant and culturally rich dishes to try. Miami is  famous for its exceptionally fresh seafood and it also has several fantastic bakeries offering delicious sugary treats.

    Miami accommodation varies from the quirky and unique to the tremendously luxurious. Miami Beach is a popular resort and is well known for its electric nightlife, diverse shops and stunning beaches. The hip Coconut Grove area lies 5 miles south of downtown Miami and is unquestionably chic. Downtown Miami is a vibrant business district which sizzles in the evening, with jazz bars, restaurants and nightclubs – perfect for dancing the night away after a long day on the beach.
