Fancy a taste of the Caribbean with a twist? Fly long-haul this winter to Jamaica and revel in this beautiful island’s incredible sense of character, culture and history.
Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean and is a 10-12 hour flight from the UK (depending on where you fly from). Everything on this beautiful island has a sense of high-definition about it. The lush and vibrant rainforests are awash with vivid colour and host a variety of exotic and colourful creatures. The sea is bluer than blue, perfectly clear and sparkling against the pristine white sand. The culture is warm and lively, with music filling the air and dancing on the streets. Art, food and sport are all important to the island and the people are friendly, proud and strong.
Similar to our other Caribbean destinations, Jamaica has a tropical and therefore warm and sunny climate all year round. The island is bursting with activities to be enjoyed, foods to taste, people to meet and amazing things to see. The world-famous Blue Mountains line the eastern edge of Jamaica and offer some of the most spectacular views in the world. For the adventurous there is the Chukka Caribbean Zip Line Canopy, which is a zip wire that begins in the heart of the jungle and flies you across forest, rivers and mountains. Braco Stables Horseback Ride n Swim takes you on an equestrian adventure across the beautiful landscape and then swimming through water bareback with your horse. Dunn’s River Falls are breathtakingly magnificent and can be climbed either unaided or with a tour guide.
This island has many incredibly beautiful beaches, each with a different ambiance. Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay is one of the most famous beaches in Jamaica; it’s a tropical paradise with lots of activities available for both sand and sea. Negril’s Seven Mile Beach is another perfect paradise with very fine, soft sand and shallow turquoise water. This beach comes alive in the evening with beach parties, tasty Jamaican food and entertainment. Other popular beaches include Treasure Beach. Reggae Beach and Boston Bay Beach.
Jamaica’s popular resorts are Ocho Rios, Negril and Montego Bay. Each area has a different atmosphere and activities on offer but they all share the same vibrant Caribbean spirit and great mix of lazy daytime beach life and lively night-time entertainment.
