Last Minute Savings: Your Next Holiday on a Whim

Summer is officially over and that weekend of sunshine we had is just a distant memory. However, there’s no need to put on your sweater and start embracing the cold just yet. With the children back at school, flight costs have gone down and the beaches have become less crowded, which by our reckoning makes it an awesome time for a holiday. We have some fantastic autumn offers on our website, so why not make the most of them and take your next holiday on a whim?

    Majorca

The island of Majorca sees highs of 24°C well into October and with eight hours of sunshine per day, it’s the perfect place to escape the autumn chill. One of our favourite hotels on the island is the Fergus Style Puerto Pollensa Park and Spa, where holidaymakers can benefit from an excellent range of fitness facilities. Sports are also available to suit all ages and abilities, ranging from volleyball and tennis to basketball and football. Of course, you’re on holiday so you’ll want to relax too. You’ll not only find an excellent range of treatments in the spa, but also a beautiful sandy beach just minutes from your hotel. Visitors can choose a number of different options from bed and breakfast through to all inclusive accommodation with prices starting from just £63 per night and the option to reserve a room for just a £1 deposit.

    Algarve

Next month sees several exciting events take place across the Algarve. In Faro, the Feira de Santa Ira runs from the 14-23 October, with traditional fairground rides and local handcrafts and food products on sale. Although the bumper cars and the thrill-seeking rides may look modern, the fair is actually steeped in history dating all the way back from 1596. It is situated at Parque de São Francisco, near the marina, and visitors will find the luxurious four-star Eva hotel close by, where rooms cost from as little as £58 per night.

Later on in the month, it’s Lagos’ time to party with Festa dos Descobrimentos, where participants walk in period costume through the streets to commemorate the town’s part in the discovery of the New World. The Tivoli hotel is in the very heart of the ancient town and close to the processions. Rooms cost from just £32 per night.

    Sol Resorts

Sol hotels can be found throughout Spain and the Balearic Islands and are well loved by both families and couples for their excellent range of facilities and their free Wi-Fi policy! For bookings made before the 30th September, they’re offering all guests up to 20% off and the first child stays for free. The offer applies to travel from the 1st November so it’s up to you whether you choose to be organised and book that break for next summer or get some winter sun in.

We’d personally use it as an excuse to get to Benidorm’s infamous November fiesta, which runs from the 12th of the month and culminates in the unofficial British Fancy Dress Day on the 17th November, where visiting Brits are encouraged to don a disguise. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to end their celebrations, which include midnight music concerts, a flower-filled parade and outdoor puppet theatres.
